Outcome Five: Encourage Self-Awareness

o Encourage the client to reflect on and share their own thoughts, feelings, expectations, hopes and fears arising from the coaching sessions
o Share appreciation of moments when client is being candid and using this candor to explore new styles of interpersonal relationships with coach
* Coaching Accomplishment
o A high level of client openness regarding issue-related personal matters
o Movement of client to new levels of learning about self that extend beyond specific issue(s) being addressed in the coaching sessions
Outcome Six: Facilitate Generation and Clarification of Desired Goals
* Coaching Process
o Encourage the envisioning of a desired state with regard to the issue(s) being addressed in the coaching session
o Encourage clarification and expansion on the identified desired state regarding issue(s) being addressed in the coaching session
* Coaching Accomplishment
o Clear statement of a goal or set of goals related to issue(s) being addressed in the coaching session
o Exploration of broader, systemically based vision of desired outcomes that may reside beyond the specific issue(s) being addressed in the coaching sessions.
Outcome Seven: Encourage and Facilitate Generation of Valid and Useful Information
* Coaching Process
o Encourage client to gather all appropriate information related to the issue(s) being addressed in the coaching sessions.
o Encourage client to test out existing assumptions with the gathering of information that would test out the validity of these assumptions – especially as related to the issue(s) being addressed in the coaching sessions.
* Coaching Accomplishment
o Formulate a clear map of reality as related to the issue(s) being addressed in the coaching sessions.
o Encourage clients to repeatedly return to the collection of information related to questions arising from the issue(s) being addressed in the coaching sessions
Outcome Eight: Encourage Client Ownership of Solutions Generated
* Coaching Process
o Ensure that the client is the central actor in any effort to find solution(s) to issue(s) being addressed in the coaching session
o Repeatedly request (respectfully) clarity regarding rationale behind solution generated by the client to ensure that client is “owning” the solution(s)
* Coaching Accomplishment
o Identify a solution or set of solutions to issue(s) being addressed in the coaching session that is “owned” and fully supported by the client
o Keep open the option to review and revise the solution(s) generated in coaching sessions.
